2 and 4 hr Steel Fire Shutter - Tube Motor

Applications:
Robust access door for use in fire rated walls with electric operations. Specific applications include shop fronts, shopping malls, warehouses, factories, distribution & transport facilities, security applications, stadiums, garages, storage, plant rooms, hospitals, schools, institutions, Council facilities and sports grounds.

Testing & Certification:
Fire tests have been performed in accordance with BS 476: Part 22 and are documented in report references WARRES No. 61083 and WF No. 182970. WarringtonFire WF Assessment Report 181246 Issue 2 provides for modifications for fire shutters to be capable of satisfying the integrity performance criterion for fire resistance for a period of 120 or 240 minutes.
Features:

Curtain - Constructed using 75 x 0.9 mm interlocking laths in galvanised steel roll formed in house. The laths are retained in position using cast iron end locks fitted with galvanised steel rivets. Refer ‘ Steel Lath’ drawing details.

Side Guides and Angles - Side Guides are fabricated from galvanised steel channel roll formed in house and complete with splayed tops. Side Guides size depends on width of the opening and options include 65 x 32 x 2.5 mm and 75 x 32 x 2.5 mm. The Side Guides are bolted to 75 x 50 x 6 mm fixing angles. Roller Drum - Fabricated from 101.6 mm OD x 3.6 mm thick wall mild steel tube. Tube Motor is fitted at one end with fabricated steel ‘Lost Bobbin’ at the other. Mild steel tube is prime painted.

Bracket Plates - Fabricated from 5 mm galvanised steel in sizes to suit the height of the opening. The Bracket Plates are mounted to the fixing angles whereas via 75 x 40 x 3.8 mm galvanised steel Offset Channels. An additional 3 mm Motor Support plate is mounted to the Offset Channel at the motor end. The Bracket Plates are provided with fixing lugs for a Hood.

Operation – Tube Motor selection is based on torque required to lift the Curtain during its operating cycle. Motors are 240 V and can be activated through a variety of control devices to suit application or customer preference. Refer ‘Electrical Control Options’ page. motors require a 13amp fused spur within 1 metre of opening.

Door Locking – Is not recommended for electrically operated roller shutters.

Finishes - Galvanised steel items are left in raw form. Powder Coating in standard available colours is an optional extra and is applied using our in house powder coat line. Laths with Plastisol finish are available as an option.

Hoods / Fascias – Hoods are manufactured in house from 20 swg (0.9 mm) galvanised steel sheet. Fascias cannot be provided with Fire Shutters. Refer ‘Hoods’ drawing details.
